Stephen S. Nigh, MD is the medical director of Radiation Oncology at Northwest Community Hospital and is the managing partner of Radiation Oncology Associates, LLC.
Dr. Nigh completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. Where he graduated with honors with a BS in Human Biology. He attended the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine where he graduated AOA in 1987. He completed his internship in internal medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City and his residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Radiation Oncology.
Dr. Nigh then served 4 years on active duty in the United States Navy as a Radiation Oncologist, at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. In 1995 he joined Therapeutic Radiologists, Inc. (TRI) where he served as the medical director, first at Baptist Medical Center and then at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. He was actively involved in this large private practice group where he held the positions of Executive Vice President and then President.
In 2004 he accepted the position of medical director at Northwest Community Hospital where he is currently involved in several hospital committees. He is the current Chairman of the Breast Center Physician Advisory Board and the Chairman of the Cancer Committee as well as the Acting Medical Director of the CyberKnife Program.
His clinical interests are primarily in breast cancer, brain and spine tumors, stereotactic radiosurgery and gastro-intestinal malignancies.
